City Purchases 77 New Vehicles

With the object of improving public services in Mazatlán, the municipality has purchased 77 new vehicles for various departments.
Official Mayor Salvador Reynosa Garzón told a gathering at a parking lot where the cars and trucks were displayed on Friday afternoon that the 77 vehicles were acquired through a national bidding process. Together with seven other vehicles recently purchased, the city has acquired 84 new vehicles during the first year of the present administration.

All the units have ABS brakes and air conditioning, he mentioned, and the contract includes maintenance for 26 months, insurance and the cost of licenses and registration. For the heavy trucks, spare tires and maintenance of specialized brakes are also included.
Mayor Felton advised that 43 of the units are being assigned to Public Services which include six water trucks, six garbage trucks, eight dump trucks and four trucks for parks and gardens.
The rest of the new vehicles, including a tow truck for the municipal transit department, will be assigned to various municipal departments such as the office of the official mayor and social communications.
Following the presentation, Mayor Felton took the wheel of one of the new trucks and led a procession of the recently purchased vehicles along Av. Del Mar.
