Canadian Mining Company Eyes Cosalá

Chesapeake Gold Corp, a Canadian mining company, plans to reopen a mine in Cosalá to extract zinc, gold and silver, a project considered one of the most ambitious in the country in terms of a mining venture.
Gerald L. Sneddon, executive vice president of operations, said they have completed engineering studies and will begin operation in two or three years.
They expect to extract up to 120,000 tons of zinc, gold and silver daily and the Cosalá mine could be one that produces the most gold in Mexico, he explained.
Last month the Sinaloa government announced that at least a dozen mining companies were knocking on Sinaloa´s door to be able to operate in the State.
