José Ángel Gurría, México’s former Secretary of Finance and now the Secretary General of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), told reporters México’s reforms will positively impact the growth of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and it will be seen “partially in 2015 and clearly in 2016.”
His presentation of an interim report by the OECD on the prospects for global growth forecasted positive growth for the Mexican economy with a projected 3.9 percent growth in GDP in 2015 and 4.2 percent in 2016.
The predicted level of growth for México is above the projected Global GDP growth of 3.7 percent in 2015 and 3.9 percent in 2016. In fact for both 2015 and 2016 the OECD projected GDP growth for México is behind that of only China, India and Indonesia.
