Mexican consuls hold US meeting

MEXICO CITY – The first Regional Coordination Meeting for Mexican Consuls in the Southern United States was held on Friday in Atlanta, Georgia.

According to a press release from the Mexican embassy, this meeting forms part of a strategy to improve collaboration between Mexico’s consulates with the goal of increasing support for the immigrant population of the United States.

The meeting, which was presided over by Ambassador Eduardo Medina Mora and Sergio Alcocer, foreign relations undersecretary for North America, brought together the Mexican consuls in Atlanta, Raleigh, Miami, Orlando, Little Rock and San Juan, Puerto Rico, as well as civil rights organizations and representatives of immigrant communities.
