Asociación de Comerciantes de la Zona Dorada have
programmed three special events to take place on Av. Garzas in November and
December this year.
Salvador Barraza, president of the Asociación de Comerciantes de la Zona Dorada, commented they have programmed three special events to take place on Av. Garzas in November and December this year. All events are free to the public.
The first on November 16 is a musical tribute to the Beatles, followed on November 23 by a “Beer Festival.” The final event, a musical homage to John Lennon, is scheduled for December 8.
Patricia Peraza, a member of the commercial association, thanked the Secretary of Tourism for his interest and determination to improve the Zona Dorada and commented tourism is like a chain with everyone strung together. Whatever strength comes from public institutions, it does not help if tourist service providers do not act. We are in sync with the (State and Municipal) governments to improve, certify (beaches) and pay attention to the Zona Dorada, she said.
As well as working on festival plans, they have also programmed a sand sculpture competition among other projects soon to be announced.
Eduardo Crespo Campa, coordinator of Pymes Turisticas for the Secretary of Tourism, said they are working in conjunction with businesses in the Zona Dorada in remodeling the area and that the city is presently painting decorative areas and cleaning empty lots.
