Demand for Mazatlán housing up 300%

Demand for housing in the $100,000 to $200,000 has seen the most significant increase.
Demand for housing in the $100,000 to $200,000 has seen the most significant increase.

Flavio Issac Michel Sánchez, president of the Mexican Association of Real Estate Professionals in Mazatlán, said “For the first time in three years there is a very significant growth in the housing sector.”

He said that demand is up between 200 to 300%.

Michel Sánchez attributed the increase in demand to a heightened sense of security in Mazatlán and the anticipated completion of the Mazatlán-Durango highway.

The housing demand includes not only those from the United States and Canada, but also nationals from the states of Durango, Torreon, Chihuahua, Zacatecas, and Nuevo León.

Demand for housing in the $100,000 to $200,000 has seen the most significant increase.

Michel Sánchez also noted that there are at least four hotels in Mazatlán that are for sale. The hotels for sale range in size from 100 to 200 rooms.
