In the workshop of Mazatlán ship builder Servicos Navales e Industriales (SENI), employees are in the process of completing one of four lanchas contracted by Petróleos de Venezuela to be used in oil exploration in Maracaibo Lake, one of the most important oil producing areas in that country.
Director General of the company, Mario Uribe Fenollosa, told media they began with five employees and in one month hired 65 more. The first launch is expected to be in the water by the beginning of February.
The cost of each launch, confirmed SENI, could be in the range of $850,000 dollars. (from Noroeste)
