Hector Pastor Cruz González, speaking on behalf of the Real Estate Developers Association of Mazatlán, said the association expects real estate sales to rebound in the second quarter of this year. He said that they believe the sales in 2012 will be at least 24% to 25% higher than 2011.
Sales of real estate last year totaled 1.5 billion pesos ($109 million). Cruz González said anticipated real estate sales for 2012 are projected to total $2 billion pesos ($146 million).
George Jackson, with the consulting and market research firm of Softec, said the challenge facing Mazatlán’s real estate industry is raising the quality of services to real estate owners, positioning itself positively against other destinations, and offering uniqueness, so as to distinguish itself from other alternatives.
