According the index Billionaires Bloomberg, last Friday Mexican businessman Carlos Slim Helu fell to third place in the list of the richest men in the world. Warren Buffet moved into second place, as the value of his company, Berkshire Hathaway, reached a record high.
The net worth of the American businessman has increased 27 percent over 2014, due to the acquisitions in the past five decades, which achieved its peak on December 5.
Thus, the Bloomberg index, which measures the wealth of the wealthiest people in the world, placed Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft, at the top followed by Warren and then Carlos Slim.
Forbes data shows Microsoft cofounder Bill Gates, as the world’s richest person with an estimated net worth of $81.6 billion, is followed by Berkshire Hathaway’s  CEO, Warren Buffett, with a fortune of $74.8 billion. Mexican telecom mogul Carlos Slim, who is the honorary chairman of pan-Latin American firm América Móvil, now ranks third, with a fortune that Forbes says is $72.8 billion.
Slim’s net worth has plunged $3.4 billion in five months, from a peak of $86.2 billion in early September to the current $72.8 billion today.
Mexicans that share the top wealthiest in the world with Slim include Bailleres Alberto Gonzalez, Ricardo Salinas Pliego, Sara Mota de Larrea, Eva Gonda Rivera and the owner of Grupo Bimbo, Lorenzo Servitje.
