The Bank of México (Banxico) told reporters that it has downwardly adjusted its projected Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth rate for 2015 from 3.51 percent to 3.50 percent.
A spokesperson for Banxico said the central bank expects the inflation rate for 2015 to remain the same as or only slightly different than that seen in 2014.
The country’s projected GDP growth rate for 2014 and 2015 remain similar to those projected earlier.
With respect to the exchange rate, analysts revised the 2014 ending number for 2014 to 14.23 pesos to the dollar, up from 13.49 pesos to the dollar. For 2015 the exchange was also upwardly adjusted to 13.74 pesos to the dollar from the earlier estimate of 13.37 pesos to the dollar.
