Pemex gets $21.4 million in US crude oil revenue

Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) obtained a $21.4 billion revenue in oil sales to the United States market in the first nine months of 2014, said the U.S. Department of Commerce on Tuesday.
Mexican oil sales to the United States totaled 217.1 million barrels between January and September this year.
Mexico has regained its position as the third largest supplier of crude oil by volume to the United States, surpassing Venezuela and pushing it to the fourth position.
Canada remains the number one exporter of crude oil to the United States.
In the first nine months of 2014, Canada sold a total of 753.4 million barrels of oil, amounting to a $63 billion revenue.
Mexican crude oil exports to the United States last year totaled 310 million barrels last year.
Last September, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) estimated that Mexico’s oil output would grow to 2.9 million barrels daily by 2020, and 3.7 million by 2040 after successfully implementing the energy reform.
Based on EIA’s estimations for 2014, Mexico’s total liquid fuel production is stable and unlikely to register severe drops in upcoming years.
General Mexican exports to the U.S. market were $24.8 billion in September this year.
This financial figure is higher than those registered last August ($24.7 billion) and in September 2013 ($23.2 billion).
