Automobile production and exports jump in August

The Mexican Auto Industry Association reported earlier this week that automobile production, as well as automobile exports rose in August.
A spokesperson for the trade association said Mexican auto production rose 4.1% to 259,106 units in August and exports jumped by 20.4% to 226,903 units last month compared to the same month a year earlier.
Exports to the United States, México’s biggest trading partner, rose 22.3% to 148,078 units, and exports to Canada were up by 60% to 17,295 units.
In July of this year Mexican auto production fell 1.4% to 234,757 units while exports dropped 7.3% to 192,940 units compared to July, 2013. Also in July of this year exports to the United States dropped 10.9 % to 125,540 units.
