At a press conference yesterday, the subsecretary of planning for the Secretary of Tourism told reporters the campaign entitled “Mazatlán, un Destino Seguro para la Inversión” (Mazatlán, a secure destination for investment) has improved the perception of the city both nationally and internationally.
According to statistics from the Mazatlán real estate association (AMPI), from January 1st to March 31st this year 490 condominiums, 18 commercial locales and 30 lots were sold.
It is important to note, said AMPI president Pastor Cruz, that 2012 was not a good year. Much has been said about a 300 percent increase, but the important thing is with existing conditions the increase continues in the coming years.
Media also reported today that José Luis Barba Martín, director of the Marina Mazatlán, advised that a five-story condominium project representing an investment of $10 million dollars is in the initial stages of construction at the Marina.
Since the opening of the Liverpool department store and new roads to the Marina, interest in investing in the Marina has increased, said Barba Martín. With this in mind, they project investing this year approximately $8 million dollars in basic infrastructure, road paving, lighting and water pipes.
