Quiznos expands to Mexico

Quiznos, the Denver-based restaurant chain known for its toasted submarine sandwiches, said Monday it's expanding into Mexico.

The company has an agreement with Quizmex SA DE CV of Mexico City to open more than 150 Quiznos restaurants around the country in the next 10 years, including five in Mexico City this year.

"Quiznos is a highly respected international brand that demands excellence from its partners, Issac Levy of Quizmex said in a statement. "We are very confident in our ability to successfully position the brand in Mexico."

Quiznos, which has expanded internationally in recent years including stores in the Philippines, India and Brazil, will open its first Russian location in March. The company said it expects to open more than 1,000 international locations by 2020.
