Gourmets and gourmands have a treat in store for them October 26-28 at Mazatlán’s Convention Center when chefs from 18 State municipalities display their creativity in an international gastronomic forum entitled “Así sabe Sinaloa.”
Speaking to reporters, Sinaloa Secretary of Tourism Oralia Rice said invited chefs will prepare 158 dishes and 20 typical Sinaloan drinks, enough for 80,000 tasty bites for forum attendees.
There will be two pavilions on display, one exhibiting Sinaloan agricultural products and one displaying seafood, set up and sponsored by agricultural and fishing industries in the State.
As well, she said, well-known chefs will give talks on Sinaloa gastronomy during the forum.
The object is to show the world the richness of Sinaloa dishes and position the State as number one in food preparation. It is expected the forum will have an important promotional impact with the participation of more than 40 national and international media personnel in attendance, added the Secretary.
Organizers expect approximately 1,000 food enthusiasts including students and professionals to attend the forum, along with 1,500 Mazatlecans and tourists.
