The Mazatlan Volunteers has been in service to the city and an the surrounding area (30 miles ) for 60 years. The Dept. recieves no Government funds ! The men and woman make money by doing standbys at sporting and other events. They depend on donations from U.S and Canadian groups . The rotary of Grand Prairie Sunrise,Swan City and Edson . The Can...andian Rotary groups have given trucks and equipment. Last year giving a Ladder Truck. They also provide other vehicles to schools and hospitals .
The department has also gotten items from Forestville fire,Occidental Fire, Russian River Fire, Timber Cove fire,Cal Fireand Monte Rio fire All of West County, Sonoma ,California
One enterprising firefighter in Mazatlan, Mexico is helping his volunteer department one shirt at a time. A couple years ago, Harry Leras, Jr and his wife Alicia started selling fire department T-shirts, making $4,800 for the Cuerpo Voluntario de Bomberos Veteranos Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Mexico.
