After many years with no visual updates to Avenida Juan Carrasco, the
municipality has decided to improve the busy street with decorative elements for
the pleasure of both residents and tourists.
Julio Guerra Echeagaray, director of municipal public services, said the Mayor has approved updating the median by painting the concrete trim and ramps, installing lighting and planting palm trees.
What they are trying to do, he said, is offer citizens an image of colour and light instead of the “grey” panorama that now insists on the road.
In addition, the municipality will consider upgrading Avenida Rafael Buelna and other streets which for many years have never changed. Now is the time to renovate them, he said.
