Theft in Mazatlán Down 50% from 2013

Juan Antonio Murillo Rojo, head of Mazatlán’s Municipal Public Security, said that crime in Mazatlán in all of its forms is down 50 percent from that reported in 2013.
The security chief said, “We are all trying, but we must work more effectively in the prevention and in this we need the support of the public and our officers need to work more closely with people.”
Regarding recent allegations that some police are protecting criminals, Murillo Rojo said the agency it very concerned about those allegations, but has not been notified of any investigation.
