Profepa Monitors Beaches in Anticipation of Summer Tourists

The Procuraduría Federal de Protección al Ambiente (Profepa) is gearing up for the influx of summer tourists to the country´s beaches, including Mazatlán, with a national operation entitled “Playa in Regla.”
Personnel of Profepa Mazatlán said the operation will include removing beach vendors without permits, and vehicles and cordon ropes obstructing free access to the federally administered beaches of the municipality. Special attention will be given to Playa Bruja, they said, where horses regularly walk along the shoreline.
As well, unauthorized cordon ropes installed by hotels and palapa restaurants on beaches in the Zona Dorada and along Av. Del Mar will be removed.
The revision by Profepa will be in operation from July 15 through August 15.
