Water Pressure to Return to Normal this Week

Until the Miravalles aqueduct is constructed problems will continue.
Until the Miravalles aqueduct is constructed problems will continue.
With many areas in Mazatlán having experienced little or no water pressure the past two weeks, Mazatlán Mayor Carlos Felton promised the service will return to normal this week.
But until the Miravalles aqueduct is constructed, problems will continue he said, adding no plans or funds have yet been formalized for construction of the aqueduct and that is a project that must be attended to.
The Mayor stated it is impossible for the Municipality to increase the amount of water required for the city due to probable breakage of the antiquated pipes.
He told media the water department, Jumapam, must maintain a balance and when Mazatlán is full of tourists with an additional 50,000 people making demands on the water supply, the pressure suffers.
The municipality has sent water trucks to those colonias without any water, providing the service without cost, as it is a Jumapam problem not a citizen´s problem said the Mayor. There are some colonias still with little water, but this week the service will return to normal. (from Noroeste)
