Family Services “Kilometer of Water” Drive Begins Tomorrow

Mazatlán’s family services office (DIF) hopes to receive enough donations of bottled water to form a line one kilometer long on the Malecón, during this its first “Kilómetro de Aqua” compaign to distribute 5,000 liters of water to impoverished areas in the municipality including La Palma Sola, La Mora, La Sábila, Mármol and outlying shanty towns.
DIF president, Sylvia Treviño, explained there are many communities that need help during the summer due to drought conditions and they want to be prepared to provide water to those who need it.
Bottles of water can be donated tomorrow, May 23, at the Family Monument on Av. Del Mar from 7am to 8pm.
