Ricardo Velarde Cardenas, President of the Mazatlán Chapter of the National Chamber of the Food Industry and Restaurants (Canirac), said sales at the city’s restaurants will be up 30 percent during the week of Semana Santa.
He said Semana Santa will be historic not only because of the increase in sales, but also because of the measures taken to improve the tourists’ stay in Mazatlán.
Ricardo Velarde Cardenas noted that employment at local restaurants was up 15 percent during the first part of the week and is expected to double for the last days of Semana Santa.
The Canirac president said that in addition to sales doubling those of last Semana Santa, occupancy at member restaurants will be at 100 percent for the next few days.
