About 60 motorcycles and their riders disembarked from Los Cabos on the La Paz ferry yesterday to join the growing number of participants for Moto Week, which officially started yesterday.
After they disembarked the riders discovered that the normal route to the staging area was closed, as President Peña Nieto was also at the port for inauguration ceremonies.
Juan Carlos, 45, one of the disembarking cyclists said, “We’ve been talking a lot about the road to Durango and we want to go see it and take pictures.” He added that he expects a great Moto Week, as each year the number participants gets greater.
As the week progresses residents of Mazatlán will see an ever increasing number of motorcycles plying the streets of Mazatlán.
The annual event will include the motorcycle parade on Saturday, which will begin at the parking lot next to Sam’s Club and continue south on Avenida Del Mar to Olas Altas past the Sinaloa Crest, up Cerro del Vigia returning to Olas Altas via Carnaval and then returning to the parking lot next to Sam’s Club.
