Celebrating 400 years since the first Japanese diplomatic and
commercial mission arrived in Mexico, the National Nikkei Convention
will be held in Mazatlán May 1-4. The convention is held in Mexico every
second year.
President of the Mexico-Japan association in Mazatlán, Esperanza Kazuga, said 800 nationalized Japanese and families are expected to attend.
At the event this year will be demonstrations of martial arts originating from Japan, including Karate, Judo and Aikido.
