Mazatlán’s AAA Venados baseball team remains at the bottom of the
standings and after last night’s 1-6 loss to Culiacán their fate was
sealed. They are out of the playoffs.
Of the six games played this week, the Venados were unable to win one and saw their hopes for a comeback go up in smoke.
Hermosillo and Mexicali lead the standings, followed by Los Mochis, Navojoa, Obregón, Culiacán, Guasave and finally, Mazatlán.
The league teams will not play today or Christmas Eve, but the Venados management announced free admission to lateral and bleecher seats for their games against Los Mochis on December 25 and 27 at the Teodoro Mariscal stadium beginning 6:30pm.
