While the opening of the Mazatlán-Durango highway on October 17th
brought thousands of tourists from Durango to the beaches of Mazatlán,
Mazatlecans also took advantage of the toll-free days to visit Durango.
Statistics from the Durango government revealed that between October 17 and 27, 4,500 Sinaloans from Mazatlán, Culiacán and El Rosario made the two and a half hour drive to the capital city of the State of Durango, prompting president of Canirac to say restaurants in the city reported they were 95 percent full.
