Change from purchases donated by customers at the 71 Oxxo stores in Mazatlán over the last three months has been to the benefit of the Mazatlán Orphanage.
Yesterday, the orphanage administrator was presented with a cheque for 55,473.22 pesos from the Oxxo representative.
Administrator Rafaela Cornejo said the money would be used to pay water and electric bills and transportation costs. At present, the orphanage houses 18 children, including a two-year old boy.
