Following the recent small increase in the minimum wage in Sinaloa to 66.45 pesos daily, the government is keeping step by increasing the cost of government issued documents, albeit nominally.
The cost of government documents is based on the minimum wage. As an example, a calcomanía (annual vehicle registration) and a driver’s license are six times the minimum wage, while vehicle license plates are 15 times the minimum wage.
Beginning April 1, if you are planning on attending the motor vehicle office for documents, this is what you will be charged:
Calcomanía: 496 pesos
License Plates: 1,127 pesos
Driver’s license: 398 pesos (two years), 796 pesos (four years)
Chauffeur’s license: 414 pesos (two years), 826 pesos (four years)
Learner’s permit: 398 pesos
Motorcycle license: 375 pesos (two years), 751 pesos (four years)
Mexican citizens applying for a copy of their birth certificates will now play 75 pesos.
