The teamwork of the foreign community, local businesses and Mazatlecan
families has crystalized into one of the most urgent necessities for the old
folks’ home at Zaragoza Park in El Centro: an elevator.
Sara Robles de Carranza, a volunteer at the Asilo de Ancianos “La Inmaculada” said at the inauguration of the elevator on Saturday the idea began as a dream by three women eight years ago when discussing the needs of the elderly at the home, and today it came to fruition.
Approximately 30 elderly residents, caretakers and volunteers will all benefit from the long awaited elevator.
