In its World Economic Outlook, the World Bank said México grew by an estimated 2.1 percent in 2014 and predicted a 3.3 percent growth rate for 2015. The World Bank also predicted a 3.8 percent growth rate in 2016 and 2017, above the average for Latin America.

The World Bank said that the full implementation by México of its “ambitious and well-targeted” reforms in energy, telecommunications, employment and competitiveness, should remove some of the obstacles to economic growth.”

The World Economic Outlook said, “The reforms should increase productivity and the growth of the United States’ economy should support the growth of México.”

The World Bank noted the “sharp” slowdown in South America, especially in Argentina, Venezuela and Brazil; and “solid” growth in México and Central America.
