PHOENIX -- This year's Super Bowl might involve two teams from places that are relatively cold this time of year, but that doesn't mean fans can't get a taste of warmth and sunshine when this year's game comes to town.

And, thanks to Super Bowl Central, visitors can get their very own taste of Mexico before Super Bowl XLIX takes place Feb. 1 in Glendale with the "Mexico Live It to Believe It" event.

"It really reflects a great partnership between the State of Arizona and Mexico," said David Farca, board member of the Super Bowl Host Committee.

Several cities south of the border, including Mexico City, Guadalajara and Hermosillo, along with Mexico's Tourism Office, pitched in to take over an entire block of downtown Phoenix's Super Bowl celebration to create the event.

Farca said the attraction, which will be located on Third Street between Jefferson and Washington streets, will showcase the best of Mexico.

"There's going to be interactive activities for families all free of charge," he said. "They'll be able to walk through a pavilion and experience different things for kids and adults."

Farca said the event will showcase Arizona and Mexico's relationship through tourism and business.
"Mexico is our No. 1 trading partner with $14 billion dollars of trade with the State of Arizona, so we wanted to include them in the party of the Super Bowl," he said.

Farca could not go into details on the specific attractions that will be on hand, but he said it will be a unique addition to Super Bowl Central.

"They'll basically experience what Mexico has to offer as a country," he said.

Super Bowl Central and Mexico Live It to Believe It open Jan. 28.
