The Mexican Association of the Automotive Industry (AMIA) reported that by
the year 2020, five million vehicles will be manufactured annually in México,
with around 4 million of them being exported.
Eduardo Solis Sanchez, President of the MAIA, told reporters “We have to feel proud. We are showing that we can export to more than 100 countries worldwide with a competitive product.”
If the AMIA prediction proves true, that will make México one of the top three automotive exporters in the world.
The AMIA president said that the automotive sector will show a trade balance surplus of $47 billion for 2014, up from the $43 billion surplus reported in 2013.
