46,000 Turtle Eggs Rescued at Playa Ceuta

La Cruz, Elota:
Due to the natural phenomenon experienced in Sinaloa this year (hurricanes and tropical storms), workers at the Campamento Tortuguero of Ceuta Beach collected 46,000 turtle eggs, a ten percent increase over last year.
Ingmar Sosa Cornejo, coordinator of the turtle sanctuary for the Autonomous University of Sinaloa, said despite the waves and continuous breakdown of the collecting gear, they have superseded the 35,000 eggs rescued on the beach last year.
He also said they were surprised that 90 percent of the eggs produced live turtles, an historic number.
