Mazatlán Police Get New Uniforms

Mazatlán’s mayor, Carlos Felton, showed off for reporters the new equipment and uniforms the city has received for the Ministry of Public Security and Transit Police. The uniforms and equipment were acquired at a cost of 7.5 million pesos ($577 thousand).
The mayor said, “We will continue to support the Ministry of Public Security to continue to make this destination one of the safest for vacationers. Our police force will have more training and treat our visitors better.”
Carlos Felton noted that the Center for Private Sector Studies conducted a survey of 53 cities and Mazatlán ranked number three, behind only Merida and Ensenada, respectively.
The uniforms and equipment received by the city was comprised of 3,700 different items, including 688 shirts, 925 pairs of boots, 925 caps, and 925 ancillary items, such as batons and belts.
