Hilton Plans to Open 34 New Hotels in México

George Massa, vice president of development for México Hilton, said that Hilton Worldwide plans to open 34 new hotels in México in mid-2016.
He said the company was encouraged by economic and legal stability of México and the boom experienced by the automotive industry in the country. Massa said, “We are very positive by both the Government of México and the Mexican economy in recent years.”
The additions would expand Hilton’s presence in México from the 31 hotels it currently owns and operates. Hilton has presence in six brands, i.e., Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn, Double Tree, Hampton, Homewood Suites and Home2 Suites.
Although Massa did not name specific locations he said Hilton’s growth would focus on an area that begins in the city of Monterrey and goes south to Chiapas, so it will go through cities like Celaya, Irapuato, Salamanca, Puebla and Veracruz, he said.
He said, “There will be more developments in the area of ??oil exports from the tip of Yucatán, to Campeche, Veracruz and Tampico.”
