A new factory making heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems for the automotive industry will begin operating in Querétaro this month.
Halla Visteon Climate Control said yesterday the new plant will manufacture 260,000 units annually for vehicle manufacturers in central Mexico. The factory, which will operate under the name Climate Systems Mexicana, has the capability for expansion to allow for annual production of 500,000 units a year.
The company already has three Mexican plants in Ciudad Juárez.
Halla Visteon makes various products for the automotive industry and has 35 manufacturing locations in 19 countries, employing more than 15,000 people.
It is 70% owned by Visteon Corporation and is traded on the Korea Stock Exchange.
