México Becoming a Global Leader in Aerospace

Members of Mexican Federation of Aerospace Industries (FEMIP) will meet next month at the México Aerospace Summit in Querétaro to discuss important issues facing the industry. Attendees include members engaged in the manufacture, maintenance, repair, engineering, design and support services (airlines, testing laboratories and training centers, etc.), commercial aircraft and military type.
During the period 2006-2012 the level of aerospace exports registered an annual average growth rate of 16 percent, reaching a total of $5.040 billion in 2012 with imports of $4.359 billion, giving the country a positive trade balance for the year.
In 2004 México had American and European aerospace manufacturers operating in México, this year that number is over 300.
The two most important countries in the global aerospace industry are the United States and Britain. However, the global industry sees México as a country growing significantly in this industry.
