Italika Motorcycle Co. Offers Free Helmets, Driver’s Lessons

Every week approximately 200 motorcycles are sold in Mazatlán. And to lessen the number of accidents involving motorcyclists, Mazatlán’s municipal government has formed an alliance with the Italika motorcycle company wherein a person buying a motorcycle will receive a money card towards the purchase of a license plate, two free helmets and a driver’s course.
Manager of Plaza de Italika, Paul Arreola, commented at a press conference that the driver´s course would be available to Italika clients as well as those who purchase their motorcycles elsewhere. He also said that according to the agreement with the city, Italika will give clients two helmets during this week only and one thereafter.
The highest selling Italika motorcycle is priced between 18,000 and 20,000 pesos and each helmet normally sells for 400 pesos.
