In an interview during an event of the “National Entrepreneur Week,” promoted by the Federal Government through the Economy Secretariat (SE) and the National Institute of Entrepreneurship (INADEM), the U.S. diplomat said that there are a lot of U.S. companies interested in working in Mexico, given the opportunities the recent energy reforms bring.
“Mexico and the United States will work together to improve competitiveness in the United States. Many companies in the energy field are interested in cooperation with Mexico,” said Wayne.
“There is clearly a lot of interest. More than 18,000 U.S. companies are currently working in Mexico, and many Mexican companies operate in the United States as well. Collaboration between the Mexican government and the entire team at the embassy in Washington has been exemplary. There is a lot to do in both economies to support innovation, and this is the key to the future of Mexico and the United States, “ he said.
The head of the Economy Secretariat (SE), Ildelfonso Guajardo Villareal, recognized the U.S. ambassador, Anthony Wayne, as a promoter of entrepreneurship and economic growth.
“Wayne’s work strengthens ties between the two countries. These commercial and strategic links help Mexico become a globally competitive country,” said Guajardo.
“The mechanisms put in place support economic growth and innovative entrepreneurship. They are focused on economic prosperity and the entire integration of Mexico so that it can compete globally,” he said.
Additionally, Guajardo praised the coordination between the United States, the SE and Inadem in Mexico that has supported the growth of entrepreneurship in Mexico.
