Residents in the North Without Water – Again

Hundreds of families in the north and northeast of the municipality found themselves without water again after a 16 inch pipe located in the Jabalines canal broke early Sunday morning, discharging 80 liters per second into the waters of the canal.
José Javier Burgeño Rodríguez, Jumapam coordinator for the district, said heavy rain that night produced strong currents which broke the pipes. He stated the pipe was repaired yesterday but that those affected by the water cutoff should not expect full service for another 24 to 36 hours.
Colonias in the entire northern zone up to Cerritos will have to wait a few more days until full water pressure is restored.
