U.S. Tourism in Mexico up 16.2%

The United States Office of Travel and Tourism Industries reported that during January of this year 2.7 million tourists from the United States visited México, up 16.2% over January of 2013.
548,728 of those tourists arrived by air, which was an increase of 15.6 percent over the same month last year.
Tourists from the U.S. continue to be the most common tourists, comprising 44.6 percent of all tourists to México. Tourists from Europe rank second with 12.8 percent of the total followed by the Caribbean with 11.1 percent.
The number of Canadian tourists dropped 0.3 percent when compared to January 2013 to 7.7 percent of the total number of tourists.
