Schools Back in Session, But Not For Long

Today, 103,000 students in Mazatlán, Concordia and San Ignacio and 8,000 teachers returned to school after a two week holiday which began on April 14.
However, no sooner have they settled into their classrooms, but students and teachers will celebrate “Día del Niño” on Wednesday, April 30, “Día del Trabajo” on Thursday, May 1 and “Batalla de Puebla” on Monday, May 5.
The department of education has called on parents to ensure their children return to school on Friday, May 2, and avoid taking a “long weekend.”
According to the school calendar, classes will again be interrupted on May 15 for Teachers’ Day and schools will be closed May 30 for a teacher development day.
