With the object of avoiding pedestrian and vehicle gridlock in the Zona Dorada during Semana Santa, the Mazatlán municipality and the municipal Institute of Culture, Tourism and Art have created a designated area for music located in Olas Altas and dubbed the “Bandódromo.”
Beginning tonight through Saturday, the area is open to the public free of charge from 7pm to 4am offering a variety of entertainment including dance, music and surprise events sponsored by Grupo Modelo and the municipality.
Four stages have been set up in Olas Altas for musical groups ranging from rock, salsa, pop and banda. At the intersection of Olas Altas and Constitución, Grupo Fussion Teens will perform. La Rezaka will take the stage at the Ferrusquilla monument while Banda Juventud Sinaloense and Notas Latinas will play at Olas Altas and Sixto Osuna. Rounding out the musical genres are Banda Crucero and Grupo Sihuey on stage at the El Venadito (Deer) monument.
On Saturday, visitors at the Bandódromo will also be treated to a fireworks display.
Gates to the Bandódromo will open at 7pm and music will continue until 2am the following morning. Beer sales within the area are restricted to retail shops, restaurants and stores located in Olas Altas.
On the other side of Mazatlán, in the north end, a series of popular DJs will provide music at the Sunset Paradise fiesta beginning today through April 19 from 2pm to 10pm.
The fiesta is located at Condominios Puenta Arena past the second La Marina bridge beside the 360 Degree condominium tower. DJs Cheke from Culiacán, Irak Soria from Playa del Carmen and DJ and Playmate International Sexy Devil will provide the music.
Gaddiel Hernández, event organizer, said he expects 6,000 fans to attend the beach party daily. This is the fourth year the event has been held in Mazatlán.
