Municipality Closes Parking Lot Fair in Zona Dorada

Guillermo Romero Rodríguez, president of the Federación de de Cámaras de Comercio de Sinaloa, complained to City Hall this week about the installation of a fair consisting of mechanical rides, food stalls and foreign vendors being installed in the parking lot between Hotel Emporio and the Ramada in the heart of the Golden Zone.
The fair, he said, qualifies as illegal competition and contradicts the words of the Mayor and Official Mayor who said they would not issue any further permits to foreign vendors during Semana Santa.
Eduardo Alcaraz solicited permission to install the fair from April 11 to May 4, but yesterday he was notified by the Official Mayor that permission had been rescinded and the fair was shut down.
