Mazatlán saw almost one million visitors over Semana Santa

From Sunday, April 13 through Saturday, April 19 Mazatlán played host to 945,100 visitors, according to Francisco Córdova Celaya, Secretary of Tourism for the state of Sinaloa.
He said that on Saturday alone it is estimated that 211,000 people invaded the city’s beaches, while another 30,000 played on the beaches of Stone Island.
Olas Altas, or “Bandódormo” as it was called, had a projected 55,000 people on Saturday.
We saw a lot of tourists from the states of Durango, Jalisco and Monterrey, Córdova Celaya said. He added that many of the tourists returned home yesterday and most of the rest will be leaving the city today.
