Included in the budget is the completion of the natural gas pipeline from Topolobampo to Mazatlán.
Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto announced yesterday the federal government´s 2014-2018 National Infrastructure Plan with a total of 7.7 billion pesos to benefit the 31 States in Mexico and the Distrito Federal.
Eight projects in Sinaloa have been approved to be activated during the four year plan:
? the modernization of Mazatlán’s port
? construction of the Santa Maria dam and irrigation infrastructure for the Picachos dam
? completion of the natural gas pipeline
? construction of a fertilizer plant in Topolobampo
? construction of electric plants operating on natural gas
? advances in the construction of the Centro Integralment Planeado “Playa Espíritu” tourist resort in Teacapán
? hospitals and health infrastructure
? highway infrastructure projects
Sinaloa Governor Mario López Valdez, attending the event in Mexico City, said the plan will favour reactivating the national economy, and specifically the Sinaloan economy.
According to a press release by the Sinaloa government, in the past three years 15,000 million pesos have been invested in infrastructure works in the State and in 2014 that amount will increase to 23,000 million pesos.
