Thailand’s Ambassador to Mexico, Chirachai Punkrasin, met with Mazatlán Mayor
Carlos Felton yesterday on a fact-finding mission to obtain information about
the city and research possible investment opportunities, particularly in the
shrimp industry.
Thailand, he said, has technicians and advanced technology in aquaculture and Sinaloa is in a strategic position with its market with the United States following the opening of the Mazatlán-Durango superhighway.
There are no Thailand businesses in Sinaloa at the moment, the Ambassador said, only in Querétaro and mainly in tourist areas. And that is his other objective in visiting, to research the possibility of opening a spa or restaurant.
