Plaza Sendero Coming to Mazatlán

Governor Mario López Valdez, Mayor Carlos Eduardo González Felton, and various state officials dug the ceremonial first shovel of dirt yesterday for the construction of Plaza Sendero to be built at the intersection of the International Road and Avenida Oscar Pérez Escobosa.

Jésus Acosta Verde, Director General of Groupo Acosta Verde, said the Plaza Sendero will be ready to open by November 4. Groupo Acosta Verde owns 23 shopping malls throughout México.

Mazatlán’s Plaza Sendero will be situated on 12 hectares (29.5 acres) with 1,612 parking spaces and built at a cost of $70 million.

The shopping mall will house 198 stores and kiosks, including a Soriana Plus and a movie theater with 10 screens.

Jésus Acosta Verde said the project will generate 2,300 jobs.

Aarón Rivas Loaiza, the Secretary of Economic Development for Sinaloa, said that so far this year a total of $260 million has been invested in the state.
