Avoid Mollusks during Red Tide

The Ministry of Health for the state of Sinaloa said there is a risk in eating seafood while Red Tide is present in Mazatlán’s beaches.
However, Flores Campaña Luis Miguel with the Department of Marine Sciences of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa said that so far no official warning has been issued. He said, “So far fishing activities continue as normal.”
Gildardo Izaguirre Fierro also with the Department of Marine Sciences of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa said, as of now, the only danger comes from eating mollusks, such as oysters, clams, and scallops.
