Leobardo Montero, head of the American Consulate in Hermosillo, said in a visit to the Spanish language daily newspaper Noroeste yesterday that the consulate will soon open an educational assessment center in Culiacán where Mexican students interested in studying in the States can find information on universities, exchange programs and financial grants.
Montero, along with two of his colleagues, was in Mazatlán to attend an education forum entitled “Crossing borders: Technology and the Future of Education: Perspectives from Mexico and the United States.”
The Consulate’s grants and programs, said Montero, are available for the study of English at a basic level to full grants for Masters and Doctorate studies in the States.
This is just one of many educational cooperative bilateral projects, said the Consulate’s cultural and press attaché Madison Conoley, adding the Consulate has a particular interest in strengthening its presence in Sinaloa.
